Q: Glucose Test...what to pack for afterwards?

Hi Ladies!

I'm due for my glucose test this week (just need a date...probably Friday). I've read you go on some "sugar high"...so wanted to know what can I pack to have afterwards. I'm going alone...so I need my levels subsided and on normal before I can drive back home.

Ginger biscuits I got, they had no problems giving me sugary food, how mad. I never even thought of that.

Food! And water. Almost any kind of (non-sugar-filled) food will do. But you may want to consider at least taking the morning off. I felt crummy all day after mine. No problems driving, just felt crummy.

I would say pack something with Protein and a bottle of water. You are going to have a huge sugar rush and then you will get exhausted. To get you safe to where you are going after, getting something with protein will sustain you and the water will help flush you out... I plan on taking the day off tomorrow to do my glucose test because I remember the exhaustion I felt afterwards.

I live in the UK and there they don't feed you after the test is complete. Instead I packed some cut up vegetables and hummus. I had no problems with that.
